Question
Dr. Brew,

Have you heard of a coffee that is enriched with an extract called Ganoderma? A friend of mine recently recommended such a coffee to me to help ease the pain of my arthritis. Apparently Ganoderma is an anti-inflammatory, among other things, and I must admit, it has allowed me to be pain free since I began drinking the coffee a little over a month ago. Here is a link to the website if you would like more information.

Answer

Dear Bill,

There seems to be a growing list of all types of beverage and food products that are enhanced or altered for a number of reasons. I had not heard of the products you listed , although I did look them up on the Internet. As I walked through the aisles at the SCAA ( Specialty Coffee Association of America) event in Anaheim, I did notice an increase in the number of merchandise displays, that had enhanced products, including coffee. They ranged from additional caffeine, vitamins & herbs to flavorings. For right now I am sticking with coffee in my coffee.

Happy Brewing,
Dr. Brew
