BUNN was honored to participate in the International Women's Coffee Alliance Leaders in Coffee program. The program, sponsored by the International Trade Organization, brought four women coffee farmers from Africa to the United States to learn more about their challenges and connect them with helpful resources and networks in the coffee supply chain. Members of the BUNN team were able to accompany the women as they toured the White House and Nation's Capitol as guests of Congressman Aaron Schock. The women were interviewed on NPR and were guests at "Vital Voices", an organization founded by Hillary Clinton that provides training and mentoring to women leaders, enhancing their ability to transform lives and advance peace and prosperity in their communities. Following the tour, the African delegation stated, "It is an honor to tour the US Capitol and the White House. We have been able to do something that many politicians in our country will never be able to do. It gives us hope."
