BUNN Filters are designed to brew great coffee in your BUNN home brewer, but people use them for all sorts of other creative purposes. Below are a some ideas for alternate uses of coffee filters submitted by BUNN brewer owners.
- Keep food from splattering inside your microwave.
- Clean windows and glass – no lint!
- Strain unwanted particles out of homemade wine.
- Dry out used filters and use as mulch when planting new plants.
- Strain grease after it’s been used in a deep fryer.
- Use in the bottom of clay pots (with holes) before adding potting soil to prevent soil or water leakage.
- Hold snacks like popcorn, cookies, and chips. BUNN filters absorb extra oils/ grease and no washing dishes!
- Wrap loose leaf tea in a filter and wrap a piece of string around the top for a homemade tea bag.
- Use as a tear away backing for embroidering some fabrics.
- Tie up ingredients such as bay leaves, cinnamon sticks and herb stems with a coffee filter and float while cooking in soups and sauces to add flavor.
- Place filters between stacked cast iron cookware to absorb excess moisture and prevent rust. Also works well between nonstick cookware to prevent scratches.
- Slit the middle of a filter and slide up an ice cream or Popsicle to catch drips to prevent sticky messes.
