It’s most likely that one, or more, of your resolutions will involve a health-oriented goal as a study by the Harris Interactive Group noted that 66% of resolutions revolve around such initiatives.

The date of October 1, 2015 will be one for the history books and everyone around the world will be taking part, celebrating the inaugural International Coffee Day.

National coffee days are nothing new, numerous countries throughout the world select a day and use it as an occasion to promote and celebrate coffee as a beverage. In March, 2014, the concept for a well-unified International Coffee Day was first brought forth to International Coffee Organization member countries in an effort to bring the global coffee industry together.

If you ever watched an episode of the classic television show M*A*S*H* you often saw scenes where the medical staff in the field were drinking coffee because it kept them warm and awake in combat zone. Preparation was minimal, served in the mess hall from giant metal vats or even brewed in a metal pot on top of a wood burning stove. As we celebrate National Coffee Day, it’s safe to say the world’s second-most consumed beverage has come a long way since the 1940s and 50s.

As hard as it may be to believe, summer is winding down and soon college campuses all over the country will be buzzing with activity as students begin another school year. As the start of classes creeps closer the annual creating of the list of must have items for the school year begins and you can bet most of those lists include laptops, tablets, text books, dorm room accessories, new clothes but would you believe that coffee, or at least the best place to get coffee would be on that list as well?
