Tea bags to alleviate itching from bug bites

Aug 30, 2013|

In the summer mosquito bites are irritating and so itchy!   If you're like me by the end of the summer you legs will be filled with the pesky, itching, swollen bites.  I'll try anything to take away the itch.

I recently discovered an article on RealSimple.com that alleged cooled tea bags could be used as a home remedy to take away the itch from mosquito bites.  I decided to give it a try.

My Experiment

I placed a used tea bag in the refrigerator to let it cool.   Once cooled, I placed the tea bag on a fresh mosquito bite on my leg.    I left the tea bag on the bite for about 5 minutes.

The results- the bite didn't itch and didn't appear as swollen as I would expect. The tea bag seemed to help alleviate the pain!

Just another great use for tea!
